Onsite Exterior Lighting Plan
An exterior lighting plan shows the location and intention of proposed lighting for illuminating exterior spaces such as walkways, building entrances, unique architectural features, or landscaped areas. The placement of lighting fixtures is strategic and serves to improve aesthetics, enhance security, and increase safety. At minimum, a lighting plan should include the following:
- Site building exterior
- Site elements such as pedestrian paths, planters, landscaping, landscaping features, parking, patios/plazas/decks
- Location of the fixtures
- Fixture Types (labeled on plan)
- Details/Specifications for each type of light fixture
- Illumination distance/boundaries
- Location of any upper-level fixtures and assessment of impacts to neighboring properties (where applicable)
- Light impacts or proposed mitigation for critical areas (where applicable)
