    Sweyolocken Boat Launch

    Temporary Closure

The Sweyolocken boat launch will be closed until spring 2023.  King County is working on a sewer upgrade project taking place in the area. For the duration of the project, you can launch canoes or kayaks, or SUPs at Enatai Beach or the 40th Street boat launch and paddle into Mercer Slough from there.

For more information on the King County project, click the links below.

    • Mercer Slough Nature Park - two pipe projects
    • North Mercer Island/Enatai sewer upgrade

If you have any further questions, feel free to call us or the King County construction hotline at 206-263-1915.

If you like kayaking or canoeing, Sweyolocken Boat Launch is for you!

Although small motorized watercraft are permitted to launch from Sweyolocken, the site is not fully developed as a motorized launch. Motorized watercraft are only permitted to travel south into Lake Washington. Only non-motorized watercraft are permitted north of the launch.

PARKING: The parking lots at the Winters House and Blueberry Farm are closed due to East Link light rail construction. Access to Mercer Slough Park and the trail system will remain open.  Visitors can parallel park along SE 30th Street approaching the Sweyolocken Boat Launch.  See map.

    Directions:

From I-90, take Bellevue Way exit north. The Sweyolocken Boat Launch is located immediately on the right at approximately SE 30th Street, before the Park & Ride.
