Four small capital improvement projects received NEP funding in the spring of 2016 as chosen by Eastgate/Factoria residents from a ballot of 26 projects.


152nd Avenue SE & 52nd Place SE Trail: This project installed a stairwell to improve the safety of, and access to, an existing trail connection from 152nd Place SE to 152nd Avenue SE.
Project Manager: Chris Vandall (Cvandall@bellevuewa.gov or 425-452-7679). Project completed December 2016.

Horizon Heights Streetlights: This project included the installation of three new streetlights in the Horizon Heights neighborhood. Each location requires a new pole and LED streetlight, as well as connection to underground power.
Project Manager: Jeremy Chin (Jchin@bellevuewa.gov or 425-452- 4179). Project completed: Summer 2018.

Lattawood Park Lighting: This project includes the installation of low-profile lighting along the trail in Lattawood Park to enhance pedestrian access and safety.
Project Manager: Scott MacDonald (Smacdonald@bellevuewa.gov or 425-452-4852). Estimated Project completion: July 2019.

SE 38th Street Gateway Landscaping: This project removed blackberry shrubs and other vegetation along the north and south sides of SE 38th Street, between 150th Avenue SE and 154th Avenue SE. New shrubs and trees were planted, irrigation was installed, and existing sidewalks were cleaned along the south side of SE 38th Street. Along the north side of SE 38th Street, trees in poor condition will be removed and replaced with new trees and shrubs, and trees in good condition will be pruned.

The SE 38th Street landscaping project area has been cleared and planting has begun! Final work is to be completed by Summer 2019.
