Library advisory boards have evolved substantially over time, with a steady trend of sunsetting due to redundancy or lack of purpose. Over several months in 2023 and 2024, the Bellevue Library Advisory Board gathered information and reviewed the Board’s mission and purpose, ultimately recommending to Council that the Board be sunset. After considering the Board’s recommendation and that of staff, the Bellevue City Council took final action to sunset the Library Advisory Board on December 10, 2024.
King County Library System staff will assume the responsibility of making periodic reports and recommendations to the Council and City Manager related to KCLS services and will provide an annual report to the City Council, usually in the first half of the year.
