Front and Center

Middle Housing - Bellevue updated its land use code to meet state middle‑housing requirements and now allows a wider range of small‑scale housing. The city also launched a new permit to streamline approvals for projects with three to six homes, such as townhouses, stacked flats and cottage housing.

Code Updates - The Code and Policy team develops land use and other regulations that advance Bellevue's vision and priorities, shaping future growth in housing, land use, sustainability and more. Learn about current Code Amendments and how to stay informed on current and future initiatives.

Trees - Minimum tree density rules apply to most development activities, including new construction, additions, subdivisions and site changes. New regulations were introduced following code updates in 2024.
