Virtual information session March 16
The City of Bellevue is updating its sign code to create clearer, more consistent and easier-to-use regulations that meet the needs of the community, businesses and property owners. Community members are invited to learn about the project and review the key changes in the draft code at a virtual information session on Monday, March 16, 12-1:15 p.m.
The sign code update is anticipated to be a full rewrite of the existing regulations. It will bring the code into compliance with relevant case law, streamline requirements and accommodate contemporary sign design and technology. The goal is to balance the community’s aesthetic preferences with local business needs, while ensuring the code is simple to understand and apply.
Initial feedback revealed significant community interest in the regulation of temporary signs, an area addressed through clarified standards in the draft code.
At the March 16 information session, attendees will learn what is changing, why updates are needed and how the draft code addresses clarity, consistency and usability. City staff will be available to answer questions and explain next steps.
