The city is providing an overview of permit review timelines that shows how different permit types move through Bellevue’s permitting process. The city provides approximate timelines to help customers understand what to expect, though actual review times may vary.
Govstream.ai Partnership
Bellevue is partnering with Govstream.ai, a government-focused AI startup, to pilot advanced tools that enhance permitting efficiency and support staff in meeting growing demand. This public‑private design collaboration aims to make the permitting process faster, more responsive, and aligned with the high standards our community expects. Local Project Review Requirements
Under the updates to the Local Project Review Act through SB 5290, local jurisdictions are required to report annually on permit processing timelines and other metrics for processing certain permit types associated with housing. Bellevue’s annual performance report is available on the Annual Permit Performance Data page.
