Bellevue Property Taxes

Due in large part to a school-funding plan approved by the state Legislature in 2017, residents will see an increase in their 2018 property tax rate.

Where does the money go? The most common property tax rate in Bellevue is $9.19 per $1,000 of assessed value, with over 80 percent of properties falling into this category. Using this common rate and median Bellevue house value of $791,000 as an example, the total annual tax from 2017 to 2018 will increase by about $375. The increase is due to State school fund levy increase and King County Veterans/Human Services levy increase.

For the $9.19 tax rate, 11 percent, or $1.03 per $1,000 of assessed value, is returned to the city. The remaining 87 percent goes to many other jurisdictions. You can find a complete breakdown by clicking on the pie chart below.
