The Bellevue Transportation Department has won a 2024 Project of the Year Award from the American Public Works Association for the Bellevue Transit Center Raised Intersections Project. The award, in the Transportation projects less than $5 million category, highlights excellence in design and construction, and recognizes the cooperative efforts between public agencies, contractors and consultants.

The project raised the intersections to sidewalk level at 108th and 110th Avenues Northeast at Northeast Sixth Street in downtown Bellevue. The updated intersections provide a seamless connection between the Bellevue Transit Center and the new Bellevue Downtown light rail station. The project is also part of the Grand Connection, a signature, pedestrian-focused corridor through the heart of downtown Bellevue.

    • Constructed new raised, concrete intersections
    • Replaced existing sidewalks
    • Replaced existing traffic signal system
