The City of Bellevue is currently designing complete street improvements along 114th/118th Avenue SE to improve safety for those driving, walking, biking and rolling by implementing a multipurpose path, bike facilities, and improving turn lanes at the 114th/118th Avenue SE and SE 8th Street intersection.
Project Description
The following improvements make it safer for those driving, walking, biking and rolling:
- Study and potential implementation of new bicycle facilities along SE 8th Street between 112th Avenue SE and the Lake Hills Connector
Upgrades for implementation:
- 14 foot multipurpose path along 114th Avenue SE between SE 6th - SE 8th Streets
- Connection of bicycle lanes through the intersection of 114th Avenue NE / SE 8th Street
- Additional southbound left turn lane on 114th Avenue SE
- ADA ramp upgrades at the114th Avenue SE/SE 8th Street and 114th Avenue SE/ SE 6 Street intersections

- Fall 2024 - Winter 2025
- Bicycle facility study and alternatives analysis on SE 8th
Public input will be sought during this phase.
- Spring 2025
- Alternatives selection and project scope refinement
- Summer 2025 - Fall 2025
- Develop project plans, specifications and cost estimates for construction
- Spring 2026
- Property acquisition and secure construction funding
Funding
- The project will be funded by a combination of Capital Improvement Program funds, levy funds and available regional, state or federal grants.
- The total construction budget will depend on the alternative that is selected during the study phase.
