Posted on 08/25/2017
In the coming weeks, if you’re traveling to/through the BelRed area where East Link light rail is being constructed, please follow the detours as the intersection of 132nd Avenue Northeast and Northeast Spring Boulevard will be closed for two weeks starting on Monday, Aug. 28.

The closure will be in effect during day and night hours. Business access will be maintained. There will be on-street parking restrictions. The sidewalk on 132nd Avenue will be closed; please follow the pedestrian detour. 130th Avenue Northeast will be open. Sound Transit’s crews will be installing a new utility duct bank and sewer line underneath Northeast Spring Boulevard. Details are contained in Sound Transit’s Aug. 24 construction alert.

Starting as early as Tuesday, Sept. 5, night closures (8 p.m.-6 a.m.) will be in effect on 136th Place Northeast between Northeast Spring Boulevard and Northeast 20th Street for approximately three weeks. Access will be available to businesses with evening hours. Additionally, 136th Place Northeast will be open to through traffic during the day; only local access is allowed during the night closures. Sound Transit’s crews will be constructing the permanent bypass system that will carry stormwater in a channel beneath 136th Place Northeast.
