People are invited to Experience Bellevue this spring. The Experience Bellevue program includes three days of events featuring guided neighborhood tours highlighting key topics of interest, opportunities to meet the people behind Bellevue’s city government services and a family-friendly festival.
Experience Bellevue takes place on three Saturdays – May 4, May 18 and June 1. Registration is required for tours.
May 4: Meet City Council, Bus and Walking Tours
Coffee, conversation and photo opportunities are available with members of the City Council, 9-10 a.m. at City Hall (450 110th Ave NE), followed by the choice of seven different tours offered in multiple languages. Tours depart from City Hall, 10 a.m.-noon.
Choose from seven unique bus and walking tours, including:
- Bus tour highlighting affordable housing advancements, opportunities and important success stories.
- Explore multiple Bellevue parks and our largest recreation facility, South Bellevue Community Center.
- An educational tour of Porchlight, Bellevue’s state-of-the-art men’s shelter, ending with a rewarding community service opportunity.
- Two different tours will explore downtown Bellevue’s development and unique characteristics, including a highlight of new buildings and the planned Grand Connection.
- A walking/rolling tour of Wilburton’s commercial area will focus on plans to transform it into a transit-oriented, mixed-use neighborhood.
May 18: Botanical Garden Tours, BelRed Art Walk, Fire Station 6, Neighborhood Character Tour and Spring District Family Festival
- Explore Bellevue’s newest neighborhood in BelRed and the home to two light rail stations. Check the Experience Bellevue website for times and locations of tours. Choose from tours including:
- Art walk through the flourishing BelRed Arts District, or head to the Bellevue Botanical Garden for a garden tour and a forest bathing experience.
- Bus tour will explore Bellevue’s diverse neighborhoods and highlight unique neighborhood character.
- Learn how to take better photos with a photography lesson at Bellevue’s best view spots.
- Explore Fire Station 6 with hands-on, family-friendly activities and educational opportunities.
- Attend the Spring District Family Festival 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Spring District Plaza (12167 NE 14th Terrace). Purchase lunch from your choice of several food trucks and vendors, enjoy free live music and kids’ activities from KidsQuest Museum and learn even more about important city resources.
June 1: Welcome to City Hall
Community members are invited to explore City Hall 10 a.m.-noon, participating in family-friendly interactive activities with police, fire, utilities and transportation departments. Learn about public art, Bellevue’s clean water, parks activities and other ways to learn about and enjoy our city!
Several experiences will be offered in Spanish, Mandarin or Russian. All activities and tours are free. Space is limited for each experience and requires a reservation. Mark your calendar and visit Experience Bellevue for full information and to register.
