The city will provide neighborhood signage in Eastgate in 2026. The new signs will reinforce Eastgate's distinct identity. Community input will be critical throughout the design process, from initial direction and review of alternates to the final selection.

Timeline and Process
- Seeking initial design direction from the Eastgate community - March

- Vendor will develop three alternate designs per initial community direction - May/June
- Community to vote on preferred choice of the three sign designs - June/July
- Construction and Installation of signs - October/November
Preliminary Design
We anticipate these signs will be constructed of stone-cladding, brick or concrete with metal elements, similar to previous neighborhood signage. Per the city’s neighborhood signage standards, these signs must use durable long-lasting materials. Unfortunately, wood is not a suitable material for any portion of the sign, although there is potential to obtain a wood-like appearance with an alternate material or method.
Additionally, the sign must comply with requirements dictating the size and height as well as other requirements such as vehicle sightlines and view triangles from driveways. Signs must be low-maintenance: easy to repair and clean, including removal of graffiti.
We would like to understand the characteristics and features of the neighborhood that you most value and which could serve as inspiration to the design of the signs. Additionally, we would like to hear your general thoughts on the signage.
