Republic Services Drop-Off at Odle Middle School
Republic Services has suspended solid waste collection services due to an out-of-area labor disruption that has caused a work stoppage at Republic Services’ local operations in King County and communities around the nation. Republic Services will collect all accumulated material at no extra charge on the next scheduled service day after the work stoppage ends.  It is unknown how long the work stoppage will last. Updates will be posted on Republic’s website at RepublicBellevue.com.

Is Republic Services offering drop-off locations in Bellevue?
Yes, Republic Services has provided drop-off locations in Bellevue starting Tuesday July 15. The location for Saturday, July 19 is Odle Middle School at 502 143rd Ave. NE., 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Bagged garbage, recycling and compost materials are accepted at the drop-off locations. We will update this page as Republic Services announces additional drop-off location dates.

Can the city offer expanded hours at the drop-off locations?
We understand the time is limiting and conflicts with standard work hours; however, the transfer stations close at 4 p.m. and the collected waste needs to be disposed of the same day.

Why are the wait times so long at the drop-off locations?
The drop-off locations have been very active with Bellevue residents, so we ask everyone to please pack patience. Collection has to end at a certain time, even if cars are still in line, in order to take the collected waste to the transfer station before it closes at 4 p.m. In addition, the Bannerwood location had to temporarily close for approximately 20 minutes on Thursday, July 16, for a medical emergency.

Will there be additional drop-off locations going forward?
The City of Bellevue will continue to coordinate with Republic Services to provide a drop-off location as long as it is needed. Due to the limited number of people available to staff the drop-off locations, Republic Services is only able to offer one location at a time in Bellevue.

Will Republic Services offer credits for missed collections?
Republic Services has communicated on their Bellevue service website that billing credits will be provided to customers on their next bill.

When will Republic Services work stoppage end?
It is still unknown how long the work stoppage will last. The City of Bellevue is in daily communication with Republic Services who is providing day-to-day updates to residents at RepublicBellevue.com.
