    FAQs on Field Closure

How will I know if the field that I have reserved is closed?

Call the Field Closure Line number for the field:

    City of Bellevue 425-452-4860
    Marymoor 206-205-3892

Which Field Closure Line number should I call for my field?

The staff responsible for field maintenance is responsible for determining initial playability. If staff determines that the field is playable, the user will review playability upon arrival and make the final decision. HOWEVER, if staff determines that the field is unplayable, the field will be closed unless staff evaluates it later in the day (weekends). Refer to the List of Fields to find out if fields are maintained by the City of Bellevue or King County.

    List of Fields, Alphabetical (2025)

REMINDER: The user group is responsible for any damage caused to a field by playing in questionable weather. This includes damage done trying to dry out a field, digging ditches, raking mud into the fencing, or applying a drying agent.

When are the Field Closure Lines updated for the day?

On weekdays, the City of Bellevue and Marymoor Field Closure Lines are updated by 3 p.m.

On weekends, the City of Bellevue and Marymoor Field Closure Lines are both updated by 7 a.m. If needed, the City of Bellevue Field Closure Line may be updated again at 11 a.m. The Marymoor Field Closure Line may be updated again at 12 p.m. and 3 p.m.

NOTE: Field playability for spring high school games on the City of Bellevue's fields is determined on weekdays by 11 a.m., and the Field Closure Line is updated accordingly.

What if we determine at the field that it is unplayable?

If your group has a field reserved with lights programmed and decides that the field is unplayable, please call and leave a message at the Field Lights number.

    • City of Bellevue 425-452-2864
    • Marymoor 206-225-8936

REMINDER: Submit the Update Field Reservations Form  as soon as possible to ask for field credit. It must be submitted no later than the first of the following month to be processed.

NOTE: If the group determines field playability and DOESN’T call to cancel the lights, they will NOT get credit for the light fees. Credit for the light fees will begin at the time/date stamp of the message.

How can I get credit for the field light charges if the field is unplayable?

If the Field Closure Line says that the field is closed, credit for the lights will be automatic. If the field is open but deemed unplayable by the field user, please leave a message at the Field Lights number to request credit for the lights.

    • City of Bellevue 425-452-2864
    • Marymoor 206-225-8936

Credit for the light fees will begin at the time/date stamp of the message. NOTE: If the group determines field playability and doesn’t call to cancel the lights, they will NOT get credit for the light fees.

How does the City evaluate playability?

The Bellevue Parks Department field crew evaluates up to thirteen infields for playability. These are some of the factors that are taken into consideration:

    • How much precipitation have the fields already received, and what is the upcoming weather forecast?
    • How much time has staff had to prepare fields before the game starts?
    • What is the temperament of the individual field? (Some fields dry faster or deal with water better than others.)
    • Is the scheduled use a special event or playoff game?
