    This permit is for the overall site review of single-family or middle housing projects that have multiple separate buildings on a site that each contain dwelling units. Documents uploaded to this permit and to the building permits should be coordinated.

    Submittal Information

    Apply for this permit online at MyBuildingPermit. When entering your Application Information, choose the following:

    1. Application Type: Building
    2. Project type: Middle Housing
    3. Activity type: New Construction
    4. Scope of work: Residence

    Required Documents

    The documents listed below are the minimum necessary to proceed with the application process. If you believe that a required submittal document does not apply to your project, please upload the Document Waiver Form in place of the required document. 

    • Arborist Report
    • Construction Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (CSWPPP Short Form)
    • Disconnection of Water/Sewer Service Form
    • Storm Drainage Report
    • Construction Design documents (Single PDF, Bookmarked, including all plans below)
      • Addressing Site Plan
      • Boundary and Topographic Survey
      • Civil Plans for Residential Projects
      • Residential Site Plan

    Construction Design documents must be submitted as a single PDF. This helps streamline the review process. When submitting the multi-plan set PDF, bookmarks are required. The text for each bookmark should correspond to the specific plan types, as listed below.

    Additional Documents

    These items may be required during plan review, as determined by the scope of your project.

    • Critical Areas or Shoreline Land Use Permit
    • Geotechnical Report
    • King County Health Department Approval
      • required for installation of septic tanks or if the dwelling is served by a septic system, and if there is a private well on the property. During review, submit your approval in the form of a letter or stamped plan from the King County Health Department.
    • Title Report
      • Sites that are not platted require a title report to locate easements and verify legal status.
