The Safe Streets Corridor Studies program analyzes suggested improvements identified through Road Safety Assessments (RSAs), as well as their feasibility and operational impacts to develop concept level plans for safe streets projects. The study serves as an important step between identifying the issues and delivering safety improvements through the Vision Zero program.
Each corridor study includes a review of safety data, suggestions from the RSAs, engineering standards, city guidelines, and multimodal traffic analysis. The corridor studies will also consider the guidance outlined in the Mobility Implementation Plan to evaluate different alternatives.
Project Implementation
The project concepts developed through the Safe Streets Corridor Studies program will then be reviewed for funding opportunities, including grants, existing programs or new CIP projects.
The city may pursue grant funding opportunities as the RSA or the Safe Street Corridor studies are in progress for competitive projects, in which case project scope and timeline may be informed by grant program requirements.
