The four lanes of the new Northeast Spring Boulevard continue from 120th to 124th Avenue Northeast through the Spring District development. The section includes traffic signals at 120th and 124th avenues, with two pedestrian signals in between for accessing the future Spring District/120th Street light rail station. On-street parking is provided on the north side and a cycle track is included with the sidewalk on both sides of the new road.

The project was developed in coordination with Sound Transit, which is building the East Link light rail project, and Spring District developer Wright Runstad & Company. In mid-2017 project partial funding was secured through a federal TIFIA loan (Transportation Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act) and through the Surface Transportation Block Grant program.

Benefits

The new East Link light rail station will be just north of the roadway. There will be parking space or a drop-off zone along the north side of Spring Boulevard. The new street enhances multi-modal access and circulation for cars, transit, freight, pedestrians and bicycles between Downtown Bellevue, Wilburton and BelRed.
