The 98th Avenue SE (97th Place SE) and SE 11th Street Slope Stabilization project will stabilize the existing slope on the southwest corner of the intersection of 98th Avenue SE (97th Place SE) and SE 11th Street.

This project will:

  • Construct a new wall and barrier along the southwest corner of the intersection of 98th Avenue SE (97th Place SE) and SE 11th Street to stabilize an existing slope.
  • Replace watermain within the project limits.
  • Improve the storm system and install new curb and gutter to capture storm water.
  • Overlay pavement and replace striping within the project limits.

What to expect

  • Construction: Construction will re-start the week of April 8 for the remaining items, including fence installation and painting. Landscaping work will continue throughout the summer and fall.
  • Work hours: Monday-Friday 7 a.m.-3 p.m.
  • Traffic impact: Intermittent lane closures. Please follow flaggers instructions.
  • Access to residences on SE 11th Street and Chism Beach Park will be maintained

Funding

Construction funding comes from two federal grants from the Federal Highway Administration and the City of Bellevue’s Major Maintenance Program. Estimated cost is $2.3 million.
