Through the Housing Stability (formerly HB 1590) program, the city collects a 10th of a percent sales tax to support affordable housing and related services in the community. On Oct. 12, 2020, the City Council enacted Resolution No. 9826, which allows Bellevue to collect the tax. The tax began on Jan. 1, 2021, and the amount collected each year since the tax began are below:

A portion of the monies collected may be used for the operation, delivery, or evaluation of (1) behavioral health treatment programs and services, and (2) housing-related services.
