Bellevue Way will be closed to southbound traffic for a short stretch just south of Main Street on Saturday, January 25, from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. The lane closure is needed to ensure safety while a tower crane is erected at a construction site at 15 Bellevue Way.
Two northbound lanes will remain open, but flaggers may stop traffic intermittently for trucks accessing the site. Drivers should plan trips accordingly. Non-local drivers leaving downtown Bellevue are encouraged to use alternate routes.
Southbound traffic on Bellevue Way can access Interstate 405 via Northeast Fourth Street and 112th via Main Street. The signed detour will be via 112th Ave SE, although local traffic may use Main Street westbound to get to 102nd Avenue Southeast.
Police officers will direct traffic at the Bellevue Way and Main Street intersection. Please be mindful of flaggers and officers. Drivers, pedestrians and bicyclists should always exercise caution when negotiating a construction zone.
The construction site at 15 Bellevue Way is the Bellevue at Main project, a residential building with retail and commercial space. More information is available with the citys Major Projects List (http://www.bellevuewa.gov/pdf/Development%20Services/lu_MajorProjects.pdf).
