Robinswood Tennis Center is currently open with modified hours. Under current Phase 2 guidelines of the King County Safe Start progression, tennis facilities are allowed to operate in a limited capacity. Beginning July 1, our facility hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. – 10:15 p.m. Court reservations may be made for both indoor and outdoor tennis courts. Singles play, doubles play, ball machine (up to four people) and private instruction are available. Please call us to book a court time or to arrange private instruction. Summer program registration is currently underway. Scroll to the appropriate tab below for course information and to complete online registration.

COVID-19 Facility Adjustments:

  • There are many signs around the property to safely guide you through this new environment.
  • The Washington State Department of Health has issued a statewide order requiring individuals to wear a face covering in indoor public spaces. The order also requires face coverings outdoors when you can't stay six feet apart from others.
  • One payment per court is required.
  • Visa/Master Card only (Payment over the phone is acceptable up to one hour before the court time begins).
  • No Drop-In court bookings (If you are on the premises you can reserve a court over the phone).
  • Arrive no more than 10 minutes before your court time to avoid crowding.

Robinswood Tennis Center has received national and regional recognition for its comprehensive programs and outstanding community service.  The facility includes:  four indoor courts and four outdoor lighted courts. Throughout the Winter months, two indoor courts are added with a state-of-the-art air structure. Other amenities include locker rooms, mini-pro shop, and a viewing area.

Court reservations can be made up to four days in advance by calling 425-452-7690 starting at 9 a.m., with a reservation for one court per phone call. There is a 24-hour cancellation period and no-show policy. There is a six ball limit per court.

Little Lobbers Instructional Clinics 
Class focuses on young children to build hand-eye coordination and develop muscle memory for basic form.

Youth Mini Clinics 
This class is appropriate for new players as well as players with some playing experience.  Tennis fundamentals are covered as well as tennis-related drills, games, and activities. 

Teen Instructional Clinics 
This class is designed for Beginning to Advanced Beginning levels of teens.  (After the first or second session, this class will be called High School Class.)

Class is designed for any child who has never taken lessons before or has minimal experience. Goals of the class are to introduce basic tennis.

Advanced Beginning 
Class is designed for students who have completed the Beginning class or have had lessons in the past.

Teen Class 
Class is designed for Beginning to Advanced Beginning levels of Teens. 

  • Ages: 15-17 
    • Summer classes are not available. 

Intermediate 
Class is designed for students who have completed Advanced Beginning II. The goal of the class is to be able to hit all strokes with consistency and the correct technique. This class is the highest level of Saturday Youth Lessons.

Junior Teams Tryout Form 

Booster Team 
Class focuses on promoting all tennis skills, including strokes, playing matches and even ball-retrieving duties.  This class is designed for students who have advanced at a faster pace through the ranks of Beginner and Advanced Beginner Saturday youth classes.  Entry to this class is granted only through tryout and Instructor approval.  The goal of the class is to boost the student's tennis skills to be considered an above-Intermediate youth before or while turning 12 years old. Next Level is Team 1. 

  • Ages:  7-11   
    • Summer classes are not available.

Prep Team 
Class focuses on strengthening the student's rally skills. This class is designed for students who have completed Intermediate Saturday Classes. Entry to this class is granted only through Instructor approval. The goal of the class is to develop consistent rallies and begin match play. Next Level is Team 1. 

  • Ages:  All ages up to 18 years old 
    • Summer classes are not available. 

Team 1 
Have you progressed past Saturday Intermediate Lessons?  Players at this level should already be able to keep score, play matches against other players, execute volleys and overheads, and place serves consistently in the box.  This team is for USTA Rookie Level Tournament Players. 

  • Ages:  All ages up to 18 years old; tryout required 
  • Fees:  $192
  • Days/Time:  Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • July 7 – August 27
    • Tryout dates are July 7 and July 9 

Team 2
Players on Team 2 have finished a session in one of the top ladder spots on Team 1.  They have shown a progression of their basic skills and they are incorporating those skills into their match play.  Team 2 players are playing at an intermediate USTA level.  

  • Ages:  All ages up to 18 years old; tryout required 
  • Fees:  $192
  • Days/Time:  Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • July 7 – August 27
    • Tryout dates are July 7 and July 9 

Tournament Team 
Players on Tournament Team have finished a session in one of the top spots on Team 2.  A requirement for this team is that the student is actively participating in tournaments.  The student has a strong grasp of the basics and is working on developing offensive shots and strategies.  Tournament Team players are playing at an intermediate and/or advanced USTA level.

  • Ages:  All ages up to 18 years old; tryout required 
  • Fees:  $288
  • Days/Time:  Mondays, Wednesdays 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Fridays, 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. 
  • July 6 – August 28

Elite Team 
This junior team is for USTA Champs level players only.  Participants should be ranked in the top 50 of their age group in the Pacific Northwest to try out.  This team is Drill and Match-play environment and is the highest level of Junior Teams at Robinswood.

Adult Beginning Tennis 
Level 1 is designed to provide basic skills needed to play tennis, including etiquette, rules, and scoring.  USTA Level of 2.0

These lessons build on the basics, reinforcing technique, and adding advanced drills and learning how to play doubles. USTA level of 2.5 or higher.

  • Wednesdays, 7:45 p.m. to 9 p.m. 

Adult Intermediate Tennis
These lessons are for participants who already have sound fundamentals and are working on advanced technique such as spin serves, continental grip volleys, the slice backhand, and basic strategies. USTA Level of 3.0 or higher.

Adult Advanced Tennis 
Class will focus on more advanced drills and strategy for singles/doubles play. USTA Level of 3.5 or higher.

  • Thursdays, 9 p.m. to 10:15 p.m. 

Adult Advanced Doubles Tennis Strategy 
Participants already have sound fundamentals and are working on advanced techniques such as spin serves, continental grip volleys, the slice backhand, and basic strategies. USTA Level of 3.0 or higher.

Men’s Doubles Play & Instruct Tennis 
This class is for four players maximum, Doubles play only. The instructor works on different strategies, techniques, movement, etc.  This class is used as preparation for USTA matchplay. USTA Level 3.0 or higher.

WEEKDAY COMPETITIVE LADIES' FLIGHTS  
   Flight Sub Fee - $12  

Adult 2.0 Flight 
The 2.0 flight is an introductory flight for players new to competitive play.

Adult 2.5 Flight 
This Thursday Flight is USTA NTRP Level 2.5 and Seattle Area Cup level Evergreen.

This Wednesday Flight is USTA NTRP Level 3.0 and Seattle Area Cup level Emerald to Classic.

Adult 3.5-4.0 Flight 
This Monday Flight is USTA NTRP Level 3.5 to 4.0 and Seattle Area Cup level Challenge to Kingco.

Adult 3.0 Partner Flight 
This Tuesday Partner Flight is USTA NTRP Level 3.0 and Seattle Area Cup level Classic.

This Friday Partner Flight is USTA NTRP Level 3.5 to 4.0 and Seattle Area Cup level Rainier to Challenge.

Seattle Area Ladies' CUPS Leagues 
These leagues offer six different levels of play: Evergreen, Emerald, Classic, Rainier, Challenge, and Kingco, with an NTRP rating of 2.5-5.0. Team tryouts are conducted in June. The season runs eighteen weeks beginning in September. New players who missed the tryouts should contact the Head Professional for potential roster openings.

Annual Tournaments, Mixed Doubles, Junior Team Tennis, Senior, Men’s & Women’s Adult Leagues. 

 

Adaptive Recreation Tennis Class 
Tennis for individuals with intellectual disabilities allow participants to be introduced to basic tennis skills with the focus on building self-esteem and participation.  Registration for this class may only be done in person with Instructor Sara Wilson.  

  • Ages:  14 years and older 
  • Summer classes are not available. 

Lessons can be scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on the 24th of the month for the following month, by phone or in person.  Customers can book an additional lesson after completion of the first lesson.  Payments are due at the time of booking.  

Only Robinswood tennis pros are permitted to instruct on site. 

Robinswood Tennis Center offers private lessons at the following rates per hour/group: 

  • 1 person - $70 
  • 2 people - $76 
  • 3 people - $88 
  • 4 people - $94 
  • Private lessons are currently not available. 

 

Cardio Tennis 
Cardio Tennis consists of short cycles of workouts.  Players of all abilities enjoy tennis together while they also consistently elevate their heart rates into their aerobic training zone.  

Call to register up to seven days in advance.  This program runs September through June. 

  • Ages:  18 years and older 
  • Fees:  $12 
  • Class size:  Minimum 4/maximum 8 
  • Mondays, 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. 
  • Tuesdays, 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. 
  • Thursdays, 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. 
  • Summer classes are currently not available. 

 

Senior Drill and Play 
This class is a combination of instruction, drill and point play. 

Call to register up to seven days in advance.  This program runs September through June. 

  • Ages:  50 years and older 
  • Fees:  $13 
  • Class size:  Minimum 4/maximum 8 
  • Tuesdays, 2:45 p.m. to 4 p.m. 
  • Summer classes are currently not available. 

Robinswood Tennis Center is offering a six-week drop-in wheelchair tennis program. Each class is one hour and fifteen minutes long. No prior tennis experience is required. It is designed as a drill workout class covering mobility patterns, tennis stroke production and games. Registration for this class may only be done in person with instructor Bill Dow.

  • Days/Time:  Every other Monday, 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.

Q. Do I need a membership to play tennis at Robinswood? 
     A. No. Since Robinswood is a public facility, membership is not required.

Q. Can I get tennis lessons through Robinswood? 
     A. Yes. Lessons are available for groups or individuals. Group lessons meet once per week, Monday through Thursday. Day lessons are scheduled for either 10:30 a.m. or 11:45 a.m., and evening lessons for either 7:45 p.m. or 9 p.m. Private instruction can be arranged by calling the front desk to set up an appointment with an instructor.  See the Private Lessons section above. 

Q. What is the registration policy? 

  1. Call Robinswood for current information about registration dates. A 9-10 day advanced registration preference is given to households within the City of Bellevue.
  2. Registration can be done over the phone or online.  In-person registration is not available at this time. 
  3. Robinswood Tennis Center does not give refunds or pro-rate fees. Credit may be given, but only under special circumstances. Management approval is required.

Q. What is the reservations policy? 
     A. Reservations may be made up to four days in advance, starting at 9 a.m. Court time is reserved for 75 or 90 minutes, depending on the facility's schedule. All court cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance.

  • Indoor: A $15 fee is charged for late cancellations. A $32 fee will be assessed for no-shows. 
  • Outdoor: A $7 fee is charged for late cancellations. A $14 fee will be assessed for no-shows.

In the event of inclement weather, the Parks & Community Services Department will make every effort to communicate the status of facilities and programs, special events and rentals. Administration will decide whether to cancel a program or close a facility based upon the safety of participants and employees, and the ability to appropriately staff programs and facilities.

As a general rule, if the Bellevue School District is closed due to a weather event, Parks & Community Services Department classes and programs will be cancelled for the entire day. If the Bellevue School District is on a delayed schedule, call the facility for an updated status report. Select facilities may be open for drop-in activities at a modified level. If you are unable to reach the facility, call the Parks & Community Services Department's general information number at 425-452-6885. Inclement weather can affect park use and trail conditions. Please use caution when visiting park sites during poor weather, as trails and other park facilities may become wet and slippery. Park trails may be closed.
