Friday, May 9: Water Discoloration Notice

A water line was struck, resulting in a turbid plume in Lake Washington, and residents from the south end at 5600 Pleasure Point Lane to the north end at Newcastle Beach Park (shown on map below) are experiencing discolored water with sediment. Crews are cleaning the impacted storm structures and expect water quality to improve by the morning of Saturday, May 10. People and pets are advised not to enter the water while it is cloudy. First established in 2006, the Bellevue Challenge Course and Zip Tour is a partnership between Parks & Community Services and Northwest Teambuilding. The professional challenge course facilitators and zip line guides at Northwest Teambuilding are focused on delivering effective, quality experiences for all participants, and operates all programs at the Bellevue Challenge Course & Zip Tour on behalf of Bellevue Parks & Community Services.

Participants on the high ropes course at the Bellevue Challe

The Bellevue Challenge Course and Zip Tour sit on a hillside above South Bellevue Community Center, tucked among the Douglas firs, cedars and broad-leaf maples of Eastgate Park. Close to home but nestled in nature, the Challenge Course is comprised of four elements that can be experienced separately or in combination with each other.

Low Course: Series of ground-level challenges designed to help teams improve performance, increase cohesiveness and examine core concepts such as communication, problem solving and collaboration.

Vertical Playpen: Vertical high ropes course where larger groups form smaller climbing teams of up to three people at a time. These teams take turns gearing up and climbing together to meet goals while being belayed by their team members.

High Course: Aerial obstacle course where teams spend an extended amount of time at height together examining and expanding their own capabilities and comfort zones, while helping others do the same.

Zip Tour: Series of seven ziplines and two suspension bridges that send you soaring as high as 80 feet through the canopy of Eastgate Park. The Zip Tour is designed to be an exciting personal experience as well as an enjoyable aerial outing with great company.

    Challenge Course Programs

Every participant will be supported to choose their personal level of challenge, and each program will be facilitated or guided by professionally-trained staff members. We provide two different categories of programming to the community.

    • Bellevue Recreation programs are designed for individuals and families, and are available April-October.
    • Bellevue Teambuilding programs are designed for groups and teams, and are available year-round.
