How We Help You

When you have a conflict, please fill out our webform.

  1. Coaching: Every case starts with a conversation.  We listen to your story without giving advice, judgment or taking sides. Then we can coach you how to resolve the issue yourself or to decide upon other options.

  2. Conciliation: If you prefer, the conciliator will talk to the other person for you, speaking with each of you separately to explore whether an agreement can be reached.

  3. Mediation: If the issue requires, you and the other person may choose to sit down with mediators to assist you in resolving the issue.

Types of Conflict

People who live or work in the Bellevue or Kirkland call us for a variety of issues, involving neighbors, landlords, tenants, businesses, groups, and foreclosures.

Most cases are between neighbors.  These include a wide array of issues such as animals, noise, fences, vegetation, trees, parking, children, boundary lines, untidiness, vacant houses, unhealthy or unsafe conditions, and cultural differences.

BCRC also helps resolve cases involving businesses, consumers, land use, and many special circumstances. If you wonder if BCRC handles it, send us an email.

In many cases there is the question about whether or not there is a code violation. BCRC does not enforce code compliance code and cannot offer legal advice, but our office works closely with the Code Compliance Department, often referring cases to one another. If there is a question of whether there is a violation, you may call Code Compliance at (425) 452-2047, or file a complaint through the MyBellevue customer assistance portal

We are not able to take cases involving small claims, divorce, or parenting plans. You can find a dispute resolution center that handles these issues at Resolution Washington. Alternatively, the Dispute Resolution Center of King County may be able to help you.
