The following traffic advisories reflect current conditions as they are known. The listings below reflect construction work that can affect travel on city streets, sidewalks and trails (note: excludes individual lane closures or lane and sidewalk closures associated with development projects). Expect traffic delays or use an alternate route, if possible. Please obey construction signs and flaggers. Construction schedules are subject to change and often do.

Current construction impacts
- NEW — 1800 block of 120th Avenue: 24/7 road closure starting 7 a.m. on Apr. 9 through 6 p.m. on Apr. 12 to assemble a tower crane for construction of a housing complex. Local access to all businesses and driveways will be maintained during the closure. A signed detour route will be in place for those walking, biking or rolling.
Ongoing construction impacts
- NEW — NE 8th St – Between 112th Ave NE and 116th Ave NE, across the I-405 interchange: The city is implementing pedestrian improvements along NE 8th St within Washington Department of Transportation (WSDOT) limited access. Ramp closures needed for the work will be scheduled and approved by WSDOT. Detour signs for on-ramp closures will be placed when scheduled.
- 130th Avenue NE - BelRed Road to NE 20th Street: Starting Feb. 4, traffic on 130th Avenue NE will shift into a single, southbound-only lane to continue demolition, grading and utility work on the east side of 130th Avenue NE. Signed detour via 132nd between NE 20th and Bel-Red Road. Local access to businesses will be maintained. Construction anticipated through fall 2025. - 102nd Ave NE from NE 8th - NE 10th Streets: Full closure scheduled daily between 7 a.m. – 4 p.m. beginning Feb. 17 through May 14. 24/7 access to the Kiddie Academy garage and driveway will be maintained and the west side sidewalk will remain open for people walking and rolling.
- 112th Avenue NE and NE 8th Street intersection: Both southbound travel lanes of 112th Ave NE will be intermittently closed between 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. from Mar. 19 – Apr. 18. for installation of a water meter vault. This may cause delays during commuting hours for those traveling on I-405.
- Downtown National Highway System (NHS) Overlay: This month, the city will begin upgrading curb ramps and repaving the arterials at the downtown locations listed below. Pavement repaving work will primarily take place overnight between the hours of 7 p.m.–6 a.m. Expect traffic to shift to one side of the roadway during nighttime working hours. - Northup Way from 116th Avenue NE to NE 33rd Place: Northup Way is reduced to one lane between 116th Avenue NE and NE 33rd Place. The long-term closure will be in effect daily from 7:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., Monday-Friday. Flaggers will alternate traffic through the work zone.

- I-90 eastbound on-ramp at SE Newport Way: On ramp will be closed nightly between 8 p.m. – 5 a.m. between Mon., Mar. 17 – Thurs., Mar. 25. Eastbound traffic to I-90 will detoured to the 17th Avenue NW on-ramp.
- HOV on-ramp from 142nd Place Southeast to westbound I-90: Starting Feb. 26, the westbound I-90 HOV lane between 142nd Place Southeast and I-405 will close for up to two years for the next stage of construction. This also includes an extended closure of the HOV on-ramp from142nd Place Southeast to westbound I-90. Signed detours will guide people around the ramp closures. Sound Transit and King County Metro will reroute bus routes that serve the 142nd Place Southeast HOV on-ramp.

- NEW — SE 8th Street under I-405. Full road closures the nights of Apr. 1 and Apr. 3 between 10 p.m.-5 a.m. No visible road work on SE 8th St. will be completed but crews will be setting girders overhead. SE 8th St. ramps will be open and detour route will be signed.
- Temporary one-way directional signals along Lake Washington Blvd SE in the Lakehurst Lane neighborhood. The signals are at the north and south end of the work zone and the intersections of Lakehurst Lane SE and Bagley Lane. The signals are required for metering drivers through one-lane during non-working hours. Ecoblocks and construction equipment occupy the northbound lane of Lake Washington Blvd SE between112th Avenue SE and Newcastle Beach Park. The temporary one-way directional signals are anticipated through November and could extended if there are construction issues or weather delays.

- 120th Avenue SE between 3923 - 4015 120th Avenue SE: The road will be closed in both directions from Wed. Mar. 19 to Fri. Mar 21 between 8am-4pm. Local access will be maintained for residents next to the work zone and a detour will be provided on 122nd Avenue SE and SE 41st Street.
- King County Coal Creek Sewer Upgrade Project: King County Wastewater Treatment Division is upgrading its regional sewer line that serves Bellevue and Newcastle. More information on project website.
- King County North Mercer Island/Enatai Sewer Upgrade Project: Crews will locate utilities in north Mercer Island and southwest Bellevue to prepare for major construction activities from spring 2022 and extend until 2025.
