The Bellevue Magic Season begins its 21st season in downtown Bellevue Friday. The nightly holiday parade has been expanded this year to run the entire way between Northeast Fourth and Eighth streets. Visitors should expect increased traffic downtown as people stream into the area for the festivities. Magic Season preview on Lake to Lake

The free, nightly performances for the popular Snowflake Lane begin at 7 p.m., and organizers recommend arriving 6 to 6:30 p.m. The event will require the daily closures of the following streets from Friday, Nov. 24, to Sunday, Dec. 24:

    • Bellevue Way Northeast, from Northeast Fourth Street to Northeast Eighth Street, will be closed 6:45-7:45 p.m.

    • Northeast Sixth Street, from 105th Avenue Northeast to Bellevue Way Northeast, will be closed 5-7:45 p.m.

    • During the closures on Bellevue Way Northeast, visitors to the Bellevue Arts Museum may park in the Westin Hotel parking garage, accessible from 105th Avenue Northeast.

Other Magic Season activities include: Garden d’Lights at the Bellevue Botanical Garden; the Magic Season Ice Arena at Downtown Park, presented by Alaska Airlines Visa Signature card; and holiday productions at the Meydenbauer Center Theatre. More information is available at the Magic Season website.

Please drive carefully this holiday season, take a little extra travel time to reach your destination safely and watch for pedestrians in crosswalks and driveways. Also, consider using other modes of transportation to avoid traffic congestion. Tools and resources are available at www.chooseyourwaybellevue.org.

Keep up to date on traffic impacts by checking the city’s traffic advisories, which are updated weekly, the real-time Bellevue traffic map and cameras, or by following @BvueTrans on Twitter.
