To increase sewer capacity for anticipated growth, Bellevue Utilities will replace aging pipes along Bel-Red Road between 148th and 152nd avenues. Construction will begin Friday, Aug. 26, and last through the fall.
The public can expect lane closures and construction for Bel-Red Sewer Improvements that will likely result in congestion, delays and occasional periods of elevated noise. (map) Use alternative routes to avoid the following traffic impacts on Bel-Red Road:
- Reduction to one lane each way on Bel-Red Road between 148th and 152nd avenues Northeast. Aug. 29-Oct. 31, weekdays 7 a.m.-4 p.m.
- 148th Avenue Northeast intersection work: Aug. 26-29, Friday, 8 p.m. through Monday, 6 a.m.; Oct. 29-30 Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
- Northeast 20th Street intersection work: Oct. 1-2, 15-16, 22-23, 29-30; Saturday-Sunday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
Flaggers and signage will direct traffic, and access to driveways will be maintained.
