Don’t be surprised if you see dozens of decked out pumpkins rolling down the road on Saturday, Oct. 27. South Bellevue Community Center’s eighth annual Great Pumpkin Race will feature decorated gourds on wheels.
Individuals, families and groups are encouraged to register for either a 10 a.m. race or one at noon. Each race is free and will have 32 participants.
After learning about a Halloween eve pumpkin race in Manhattan Beach, SBCC staff decided in 2011 to replicate the effort in the Pacific Northwest.
The pumpkin races are part of Halloween on the Hill, an extravaganza at SBCC (14509 SE Newport Way) that includes the Carnival on the Hill, Dessert Theatre, Haunted Movie on the Hill and Zip Scare. Bellevue Zip Scare video
