The City of Bellevue invites professional visual artists in Island, King, Kitsap, Kittitas, Chelan, Pierce, San Juan, Skagit and Snohomish counties to submit two- and three dimensional artworks for purchase by the city as part of its Public Art Collection.
Artists may submit up to five pieces, with a total maximum purchase price of $12,000. The deadline for submission is 11:59 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 13.
All purchased artwork will be placed throughout city-owned and publicly accessible buildings and offices. Selection criteria will be based on artistic merit, as well as compelling themes.
The city’s aim for the Public Art Collection is for it to be a leading platform and community resource for cultural exchange and creative inspiration. The collection features two- and three-dimensional artworks, as well as electronic art. Growing the number of portable artworks increases public access across Bellevue and expands the range of visual art media and artistic voices within the collection.
