Starting Monday, night, June 8, through Thursday, June 11, the intersection of 120th Avenue Northeast and newly constructed Northeast Fourth Street will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., to conduct water main work.
During the day, 7 a.m.-5:30 p.m., there will also be intermittent lane closures on 120th Avenue in both directions over the next couple of weeks for construction of the Northeast Fourth Street extension.
When the extension opens to traffic in the fall, it will be a five-lane arterial with two travel lanes in each direction and a center-turn lane where needed. Bike lanes and sidewalks are included on both sides and a new traffic signal at the Northeast Fourth Street and 120th Avenue intersection. The extension will relieve congestion at nearby intersections, improve travel times and provide alternatives for buses, cars, freight, pedestrians and bicyclists.
