As Bellevue continues to grow, the Development Services Department is expanding access to transparent permitting information. Our website now offers more resources for the Bellevue community, permit applicants, property owners, developers and anyone interested in permitting.
New digital tools on the city website now offer dashboards with permit volume data, valuations, review timelines and other metrics. Explore core permitting data all in one place. The community will also find tables summarizing the city’s estimated review timelines. These tools provide a look at permitting activity, including how many applications are coming in and how long different parts of the review process typically take. This information and new resources are being offered to make it easier for the community to understand how permits move through the system and how demand and timelines change over time.
These updates are part of a larger effort to provide more predictability and streamline the permitting process, as well as broaden transparency. In 2024, the Development Services Department refreshed its strategic direction to better meet the community’s changing needs. This updated framework builds on our longstanding mission and values while adopting a forward-looking approach that emphasizes collaboration, innovation and service. Coming soon, our website will offer additional information on the department’s workplan, which reflects this new direction and incorporates improvements shaped by customer and staff feedback, performance data and insights from the Bellevue Development Committee.

By sharing more about the department’s priorities, as well as access to data, Development Services intends to support a clearer understanding of development activity and highlight how customer feedback, performance goals and related data and continuous improvement efforts come together to guide an exciting path forward.
