Bellhop, the new electric, eccentric shuttle for downtown and selected Wilburton and BelRed locations, is formally introduced in the Fall-Winter issue of It’s Your City going to all 69,000 residential and business addresses in Bellevue this week.
If the pilot project is successful, it would come close to fulfilling a dream nurtured by city leaders over the past two decades. Other featured stories include:
- East Link Starter Line: While East Link light rail won’t connect to Seattle until 2025, Sound Transit will launch a “starter line” with service between the South Bellevue and Redmond Technology stations next spring.
- Meydenbauer Bay Park Phase 2: Meydenbauer Bay Park has been one of Bellevue’s most popular destinations since it opened in 2019. A second phase of the project will focus on expanding the park’s connection to downtown.
- Ramping up Environmental Stewardship: The city intensifies ESI by supporting deep discounts on heat pumps, adding charging stations for electric vehicles, handing out free trees and assessing the impacts of climate change in Bellevue.
- Council Corner column from Councilmember Barksdale: The city has become more inclusive, data-driven and transparent in recent years, Councilmember Jeremy Barksdale notes in his farewell column.
The next issue of It’s Your City will come out in February. For more information on Bellevue’s coordinated communications, please visit the city newsroom.
