Evening overlay work will impact traffic on Factoria Boulevard next week from Southeast 36th Street to Southeast 41st Place.
From Monday, July 21, through Thursday, July 24, crews will grind the roadway in preparation for the new asphalt overlay. This work will occur nightly between the hours of 7:30 p.m. and 6 a.m.
From Monday, July 28 through Thursday, July 31, crews will place the new asphalt overlay. Paving will occur between the hours of 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.
The grinding and paving work will require one full side of the road to be closed at a time. As a result, traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction on one side of the landscape median. Business access and egress may be impacted for short durations as the work progresses past each street block and driveway.
Work will take place in the evening to minimize traffic impacts. The project schedule has been coordinated with WSDOT's I-90 lane closures to avoid further delays along Factoria Boulevard and Richards Road.
There will be evening construction noise from the grinding work. The construction contractor will attempt to complete the work as quickly as possible to minimize the number of nights required.
Please be alert when you are in or near the construction zone, especially bicyclists and pedestrians. For your safety, please obey the construction flaggers as you move through the area.
