Utility box beautification expanded to downtown
The City of Bellevue is looking for more Eastside artists to design artworks for utility and signal boxes in the city, after a successful round of art collected and installed on utility boxes in the BelRed Arts District earlier this year.
This latest opportunity is open to all visual artists living on the Eastside, working in any medium that can be digitally reproduced on a two-dimensional vinyl wrap. Selected artists will receive a stipend ranging from $800 to $1,100 to create artwork for utility boxes in Bellevue's downtown area.
The deadline to apply is Dec. 8 at midnight. The call for artists and the Eastside Artist Roster, with which applicants must be registered to participate, can be accessed at Utility Box Wraps.
All questions should be directed to Manette Stamm on the city’s arts team at 425-452-4064 or mstamm@bellevuewa.gov. More information on the city’s public art program, including a look at the featured artists and works selected for the BelRed utility box art wraps, is available at Public Art and Opportunities.
