Bellevue community members invited to participate in survey to develop city manager candidate profile
The Bellevue City Council invites the community to participate in developing a candidate profile as part of the process to select a permanent city manager following the recent retirement of the city’s prior manager. In a council-manager form of government, one of the roles of the City Council is to select a city manager to lead the operations of the organization. It has been more than a decade since the Bellevue council last undertook this process.
The candidate profile is meant to identify desired skills, experience and leadership qualities embodied by the ideal city manager candidate.
Community members are invited to participate in a short, two-question survey, which must be submitted by April 21, 2024. The survey collects community member input on the most important qualities a city manager for Bellevue should possess as a key leader for an organization committed to high-performance government and quality services. The council will use feedback from the community and city staff to help develop the profile that potential city manager candidates will be measured against as the council makes their decision.
The council voted in their meeting March 4 to develop a profile for the role and will determine how they will further advance the city manager selection process once the profile is complete. More information about Bellevue’s form of government can be found on the City Government web page.
