The City of Bellevue invites the community to comment on design options for a new park in the BelRed neighborhood at a meeting Thursday, Aug. 27, 6-7:30 p.m. at Crossroads Community Center,16000 NE 10th St. This meeting will also be offered online on Thursday, Sept. 3, 6-7:30 p.m.
The eight-acre park site is between 124th and 130th avenues, adjacent to the light rail line and several light industrial properties. BelRed is rapidly transforming from an industrial warehouse area into a mixed-use, transit-oriented hub anchored by developments like the Spring District and planned amenity investments including the new park.
At the meeting – the second the city has hosted about the park – staff will share conceptual park designs and gather community input on priorities, amenities and design ideas for the future park. Conceptual design is the initial phase of any project, where the core ideas and broad outlines of function, form and purpose are defined. Feedback will help planners refine the design of the future park.
“This new park is an opportunity to create a space that reflects the needs, values and character of the BelRed community,” said Parks & Community Services Director Meredith Petit. “We encourage everyone who lives, works or spends time in the neighborhood to share their ideas and help shape a park that will serve the community for generations to come.”
