Stakeholders still have time to join effort of Communities of Color initiative
The application due date to be a coordinating team member for the Bellevue Centers Communities of Color Initiative has been extended to Sunday, May 23.
In January, the City Council approved the Bellevue Centers Communities of Color Initiative, a community-led program to advance racial equity, recognize and eliminate systemic barriers to civic participation, and build trust and awareness across the city’s diverse population.
The Communities of Color Coordinating (CCC) team will help direct Bellevue’s approach and process to identify goals, priorities and work outlined in the new initiative. The team will accomplish that work through a) developing trust and awareness through dialogue, b) building racial literacy and skills through education and training, and c) partnering with the city and other institutions to co-create recommendations and actions.
Online applications will be accepted through Sunday, May 23, 2021, from community members who live or work in Bellevue and are interested in being a part of the CCC team. Printable applications are available in English, Español, 中文, 한국어, Pусский and Tiếng Việt. Printed applications must be returned to the city by mail and postmarked no later than Monday, May 24, 2021.
More information about the CCC team and application is available on the city’s web page for the Bellevue Centers Communities of Color Initiative. For more information, questions or assistance applying, please email diversity@bellevuewa.gov.
