Northwest Arts Center is known for its quality and affordable crafts and visual arts, dance, and enrichment programs for children, youth and teens, and adult fitness programs.

Register for a class in the Parks Registration system

Parents and children ages 2-5 years old will enjoy these fun times learning new skills while meeting new friends. 

Mix, Measure and Chop! 
Caregiver and child will mix, measure, and cook a delicious and tasty mini-meal together.  This is a child and caregiver class.  All materials provided.  Pre-registration is required.

Funny Little Valentine 
Make a gift for your special pal to take home.  Sing songs, do a little dance and complete the morning decorating a sweet Valentine treat.  Come join the fun!  This is a child and caregiver class.  Pre-registration is required. 

Lucky Leprechauns  
Top o' the mornin' to ya!  Join us for art, games, music and all things green.  Don't forget to wear something green so you won't get pinched!  There is a pot of "gold" waiting for you at the end of the rainbow.  This is a child and caregiver class.  Pre-registration is required.   

Peep!  Peep! 
Make cheerful chicks that peek out of decorated eggs as well as other springtime creatures.  Music and an egg hunt will round off our morning of fun!  This is a child and caregiver class.  Pre-registration is required.  

Move Over Mozart Piano Classes 
Learn to play familiar tunes on the piano, learn basic music theory, and read music.

Baby Beethoven - Singing & Music 
This fun and stimulating hands-on class introduces music and movement for toddler and caregiver.  Rhythm instruments are included in this playful, fun class.  Please, no siblings during class.

Little Learners Tumble Time 
Children will develop key building blocks for reading, writing, and math through interactive play, beginning gymnastics, and circle time.  Create a world of play and imagination through weekly themed activities.  Caregivers required in class.

Youth Taekwondo 
Learn basic kicks and strikes in a fun, positive environment. 

City Opera Ballet Class Pre-Ballet 
Learn basic ballet steps, postures, music and movement.

City Opera Ballet - Story Ballet
This class offers introductory ballet with story time from classical ballet, dance games and performance practice. 

City Opera Ballet - Youth Ballet 
Learn basic ballet movement at the barre, in the center, and across the floor.  Practice ballet vocabulary and combinations. 

Emerald Ballet Theater:  Pre-Ballet I 
This is a joyful introduction to movement.  Learn basic dance technique inspired by beautiful music, literature, and art. 

Emerald Ballet:  Pre-Ballet II 
Learn basic ballet technique focused on flexibility, coordination, strength and musicality. 

 

Children’s Pottery Studio 
In a fun and supportive environment, your child will be introduced to hand and wheel building, sculpting, coil construction, and glazing. The possibilities of turning clay into a piece of treasured art is limitless! Materials and firing fee included.

Basic Painting Skill Class - ongoing class, join anytime!

Cartooning and Drawing for Kids (grades 2-5) 
Fledgling cartoonists will learn the basics of expression drawing, line quality, constructing from the imagination, and exaggerating from life while exploring moods and animating actions.  Media will include pencil, markers, ink and watercolor, among others.  Instructor:  Brad Niemeyer

Strength Training - Balance - Cardio Fitness 
Work on toning, balance, stretch, and cardio, and strengthen with the use of light weights and tubing to work upper and lower body. Techniques focus on agility, balance, and coordination to create a workout that is fun, safe, effective and uplifting.  This is a great program for all ages and abilities.

Kitchen Kapers Cooking Class 
Make some of the easiest but tastiest meals while having a great time.  Learn about seasonings, cooking methods, and healthy meal choices.  Recipes and materials are included. This is an adaptive program for adults with disabilities.

Let us take care of the details so you can enjoy a stress-free party! Our parties provide an hour of fun-filled activity and an hour in our party room. We provide the friendly and enthusiastic party staff, ample space for your gathering, and a special party gift for the birthday child.

You bring the cake, decorations and the birthday guests. Maximum number varies, depending on facility size and instructor availability.

In the event of inclement weather,the Parks & Community Services Department will make every effort to clearly communicate the status of facilities and programs, scheduled special events and rentals. Administration will make an operational decision based upon the safety of participants and employees, and the ability to appropriately staff programs and facilities.

NOTICE: If the Bellevue School District is closed due to inclement weather, all Parks classes and programs are cancelled. However, select facilities may be open for drop-in activities at a modified level. Please call the facility or program area for additional information and weekend program information.
