This Land Use Code Amendment (LUCA) provides for fee-simple ownership of lots on which townhome dwellings are placed. Allowing for fee-simple ownership of townhomes advances the city’s Affordable Housing Strategy, specifically Strategy B calling for the creation of a variety of housing choices.
What happened?
On February 16, 2021, the City Council adopted Ordinance 6568 amending the Land Use Code to establish provisions in Chapter 20.45A Platting and Subdivisions and Chapter 20.45B Short Plats and Short Subdivisions for Unit Lot Subdivisions within Land Use Districts where multifamily development is currently allowed.
Public Hearing
On January 13, 2021, the Planning Commission held a virtual public hearing to amend the Bellevue Land Use Code Chapter 20.45A Platting and Subdivisions and Chapter 20.45B Short Plats and Short Subdivisions to allow for unit lot subdivisions in the city.
