The Flavors of India festival is an annual one-day celebration in Bellevue, Washington, dedicated to showcasing India's rich and vibrant culture. Organized by the Vedic Cultural Center, the festival features a variety of attractions, including traditional Indian music and dance performances, authentic Indian cuisine, and cultural exhibits. A highlight of the event is the Street Parade, a traditional chariot procession. Traditional Indian chariot street festival with colorful floats, enthusiastic dancers dressed in vibrant ethnic costumes and mesmerizing Indian music. The event brings a vibrant celebration of South Asian traditional heritage and culture to Bellevue. Participants will pull by hand the large, colorful chariot on the street, accompanied by the singing of ancient songs from India along with the sounds of traditional musical instruments. This street festival in India has been celebrated for over 3,000 years, making it the longest-running street festival in the world.
Flavors of India, sponsored by Vedic Cultural Center, is included in the city calendar because a special event permit has been issued.
