Bellevue Arbor Day!
Bannerwood Ballfield Park, 1790 Richards Road, Bellevue, WA 98005
Celebrate trees and their many contributions to our community by giving them a helping hand at Bellevue Arbor Day! In addition to planting trees and other native plants, we'll be freeing parts of the park from noxious weed species that threaten our urban forests. This event also celebrates Bellevue's annual recertification as a "Tree City USA" community by the Arbor Day Foundation.
Volunteer projects will be held rain or shine but may be cancelled if extreme weather conditions are in the forecast. Each child under 12 must be accompanied by an adult (i.e., 1:1 ratio) and cannot be left unattended with city staff when the project ends. All volunteers must sign (or have signed by their parent or legal guardian) a liability waiver. High school students ages 14+ may attend volunteer projects unaccompanied, provided they bring appropriate paperwork signed by a parent or legal guardian and have preregistered. Please arrive 20 minutes prior to project start time to get checked in.
The City of Bellevue will supply all tools, materials, and equipment unless otherwise noted. On the day of the project, please bring:
- A clean shovel if you already own one
- Sturdy closed-toed shoes or boots - clean them thoroughly to avoid spreading weed seeds into our natural areas
- Work gloves
- Layers of comfortable clothing
- Long work pants - yoga pants and leggings may not provide adequate protection
- Rain gear, depending on the weather forecast
- Bottle of water and snacks
Please pre-register using our volunteer calendar. Registration will close one day prior to the project. If your plans change and you would like to cancel your registration(s), please email us at Parks_Stewardship@BellevueWA.gov
