LeRoy Bell, a veteran soul musician and songwriter who was a finalist in "The X Factor" talent competition reality show in 2011, will perform at Bellevue's Martin Luther King tribute event on MLK Day, Monday, Jan. 21, at Crossroads Bellevue.
The free event, 10 a.m.-3 p.m., at the Center Market Stage of the shopping center, on the corner of Northeast Eighth Street and 156th Avenue Northeast, will include a variety of entertainment, guest speakers, a health resource fair, cooking and fitness demonstrations, and activities for children.
Featured performers will include: the Seattle Peace Chorus, singing a repertoire of international and American-based choral selections; the Bellevue Elite Cheer Squad; Peter Ali, a Native American flutist; and Sonny Byers, a noted rhythm and blues musician.
The Health and Resource Fair is sponsored by the Bellevue alumnae chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta sorority, and will feature representatives from the Swedish Mobile Mammogram Unit, Bellevue Wellness, Bright Now Dental Company, SeaMar, the American Cancer Society, Hope Heart, the American Diabetes Association and the American Heart Association.
The event is sponsored by the City of Bellevue, Delta Sigma Theta and King County Libraries.
