How does a roadway project move from idea to reality? How do bike lanes, crosswalks, sidewalks, or traffic signals become part of the capital plan?
To find out, the public is invited to join staff from the city's Neighborhood Outreach group and Transportation Department for a presentation about "The Life of a Transportation Capital Investment Program (CIP) Plan Project." The event takes place Thursday, January 30, from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Newport Way Library, 14250 SE Newport Way.
Residents will learn about the five phases of a Transportation CIP project from idea to implementation, and discuss components of a completed project, a project under design and candidate projects for the upcoming CIP budget cycle. Examples will include sidewalk projects in the Eastgate area. There will also be a question-and-answer session.
