The City of Bellevue is joining communities across the country to celebrate National Drinking Water Week this week by recognizing the vital role that safe, clean water plays in our lives – and the infrastructure and people who make it possible.
To celebrate Bellevue’s tasty tap water, which comes from the pristine Cedar and South Fork Tolt rivers, the city hosts a water-smart table at City Hall 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Wednes-day, May 7. Staff will share details about our drinking water and hand out swag.
Clean, reliable drinking water is essential to health, safety and quality of life. This week, community members are encouraged to take a moment when they drink from the tap to appreciate the journey water takes to get to our taps and learn how we can all help protect this valuable resource.
“Safe water is something we all need and rely on every day,” says Bellevue Utilities Director Lucy Liu. “This week is an opportunity to reflect on the importance of maintaining our water systems and preserving this essential resource for future generations.”
