Bellevue Utilities will be repairing a leaking 18-inch water main on Bel-Red Road near 124th Avenue Northeast beginning at 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 23. Repairs are anticipated to be completed by the morning of Thursday, Dec. 24.
Due to repair the travelling public can expect the following:
- Portions of the two westbound through lanes on the northside of Bel-Red will be closed for crews to make repairs; however, westbound traffic will be maintained through temporary lane modifications.
- Traffic lanes at the intersection of Bel-Red Road and 124th Avenue Northeast will maintain normal operations.
The 18-inch cast iron pipe being repaired was installed in 1962. Several businesses served by the main from 124th Avenue Northeast to the 12800 block of Bel-Red Rd may be without water while repairs are being made. Bellevue Utilities has contacted these businesses and is actively working with them to reduce impacts. No residential customers are affected.
