Salmon are heading our way! Attend a Salmon Watcher workshop to learn more about our wild underwater neighbors and what you can do to help them. Find out how some salmon may arrive at local streams by truck!
You can also sign up to help watch for salmon returning to local streams. Volunteers attend one workshop, watch for salmon twice a week for 15 minutes, and then record their findings. No experience is necessary.
The Salmon Watcher program helps local salmon recovery efforts. Findings show how salmon are using local streams, identify possible fish passage barriers, and help target salmon recovery projects. Citizens may also attend just to learn more about our local salmon.
Register by contacting Bellevue Stream Team at streamteam@bellevuewa.gov or 425-452-5200 and then attend the workshop, 7-9 p.m., Tuesday, September 16 at City Hall. King County has information on workshops in other cities.
