The East Bellevue Community Council has a vacancy. Residents who live in the area represented by the community council have until January 22 to apply for the seat. The successful candidate will complete a term that expires on December 31, 2017.
The East Bellevue Community Council is an elected body that has approval/disapproval authority over certain city ordinances and resolutions dealing with land use matters, such as comprehensive plans, zoning, subdivisions and conditional use permits. In addition to acting on land use matters, the community council may advise, consult and cooperate with the city council on any local matters directly or indirectly affecting its service area.
Applicants must be available for evening meetings. The community council meets on the first Tuesday of each month, 6:30 p.m. at the Lake Hills Community Clubhouse, 15230 Lake Hills Blvd. Attendance at other evening meetings is sometimes required.
Interested citizens may apply online or pick up a community service application from the City Clerk's Office or Service First Center in City Hall. You may also request that a form be faxed to you by phoning 452-6466. Applications may be handwritten, typed or computer-generated; a resume may be attached if you choose.
