The victim of a July 10 assault at the Bellevue Transit Center died from his injuries on Tuesday, July 19. Bellevue police detectives are now investigating the case as a homicide, the first in the city this year.

According to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office, Eric Larson, 63, died from blunt force head trauma.

Larson was at the transit center downtown early (shortly after midnight) on Sunday, July 10, when a 25-year-old man allegedly attacked him. The attack appeared to be unprovoked. Larson was transported to a hospital.

Officers located and arrested the suspect two hours later within a few blocks of the assault. He was booked into jail, and county prosecutors initially charged him with attempted first-degree murder and first-degree assault.
