A celebration of school, community services and our area's rich blueberry harvest, the sixth annual Lake Hills Blueberry Festival will be Saturday, September 6, at Lake Hills Elementary School.
The back-to-school party, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., at 14310 SE 12th St., will be an opportunity for local families to have fun and learn about Wrap-Around Services, a collaboration of the city, school district, United Way and East Bellevue Community Council to support youth and families.
The event will feature a barbecue and free family activities, including
- Live music, games, arts and crafts, face painting and more;
- Assistance and information about a variety of human services programs from local service providers;
- Visits from Bellevue firefighters and police; and
- "Blueberry Lane," where art, produce and blueberry pie will be available for purchase.
In addition, Lake Hills Elementary School teachers will be available from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. to meet with students and their families.
Visitors are also encouraged to take a short walk to the neighboring Jubilee REACH Center (14200 SE 13th Pl.) to shop a yard sale and participate in family fun.
Parking is limited, so walking, riding the bus or carpooling is encouraged. The event is sponsored by Wrap Around Services in partnership with Lake Hills Neighborhood Association and Jubilee REACH Center.
