The City of Bellevue closed the Enatai Beach Park swimming area Friday, July 17, due to high bacteria levels in the water. The rest of the park, located at 3519 108th Ave. SE, is still open.
The swimming area at Newcastle Beach Park is also closed due to high bacteria levels in the water. Swimming is still open at Bellevue’s other beach parks.
- Meydenbauer Bay parks have lifeguards noon-7 p.m., seven days a week, through Labor Day, Sept. 7.
- Chism Beach and Clyde Beach parks have lifeguards noon-7 p.m., seven days a week through Aug. 22.
- Chesterfield Beach Park has lifeguards 2-5 p.m., seven days a week through Aug. 22.
The closure of the Enatai swimming area comes at the direction of Public Health – Seattle & King County. The county routinely tests for bacteria and cyanotoxin at 17 lake beaches on Lake Washington. The swimming area will be reopened when testing indicates that bacteria counts return to a low-risk level.
Signs at the park alert visitors to the closure of the swimming area.
